StarLadder ImbaTV Invitational Season 5 Winners

OpTic Gaming won their first Dota 2 Pro Circuit (DPC) tournament, beating VGJ.Thunder 3:1 in the grand finals of StarLadder ImbaTV Invitational Season 5 on April 15th. Notably, this was also the first LAN win for Per Anders Olsson “Pajkatt” Lille, a well-known Swedish player who joined his first Dota 2 team in 2011.

This win puts OpTic Gaming effectively in thirteenth place in the DPC standings. The top eight teams will receive direct invitations to The International 8.

Last Qualifier Period of the Season

Regional qualifiers for the final four tournaments of the DPC’s debut season began this week and will run through next week until the next DPC tournament, EPICENTER XL, begins on April 27th. .

Results from this week include:

Fnatic won the Southeast Asia qualifier for GESC: Thailand.
LGD.Forever Young won the China qualifier for ESL One Birmingham.
Team Spirit won the CIS qualifier and Infamous won the South America qualifier for the China Super Major.

Paris Saint-Germain partners with LGD Gaming

Paris Saint-Germain ventured into Dota 2 this week, becoming the first major European football club to partner with a Dota 2 squad in China. They’ve joined with LGD Gaming to create PSG.LGD, rebranding the LGD squad. PSG.LGD are in eighth place in the DPC standings, with nearly 500 more points than the ninth place American squad, Evil Geniuses. PSG.LGD’s next event will be EPICENTER XL from April 27th to May 6th.
