The MDL Changsha Major began on May 14th, when the twelve teams were split into two groups for a Round-Robin-style group stage. Vici Gaming and Team Secret won their groups, and were seeded into the second round of the Upper Bracket in the double elimination playoff bracket. Team Secret was ultimately knocked out in 5th-6th place by PSG.LGD, who will play Vici Gaming in the Lower Bracket finals before the winner faces VGJ.Storm in the Grand Finals. The latter two series will be played May 20th, 2018.The tournament’s prize pool is (US)$1,000,000, and the top four teams at the event will split 1500 Dota 2 Pro Circuit qualifying points. Both PSG.LGD and Vici Gaming are within the top eight of the Dota 2 Pro Circuit rankings, and are eligible for direct invites to The International 8. VGJ.Storm recently added Roman “Resolut1on” Fominok to their roster, making the team ineligible, though they’ll still enjoy a hefty share of the prize pool.
